Pew Internet & American Life has released a study showing that seventy percent of American college students play video, computer, or online games at least once in a while, and 65 percent play games regularly or occasionally. That translates into a whole lot of gaming going on. There must be business opportunites here for people other than software developers. Perhaps a definitive guide to a popular game?

I just like to play computer games, not think about them, but I find the pair of Internet Activity charts at the Pew site fascinating. Look at the percentages of people with Internet access that research a product or service before buying it, look for a map or driving directions, or check the weather. Over 68 percent! Does your business Web site provide visitors the opportunities to do these things? Adding them could be another way to drive traffic to your site.
