"Glass, china, and reputation are easily cracked, and never mended well." – Benjamin Franklin.
In business, reputation is paramount. You can't attract new customers and keep regular ones without a good reputation. And a good reputation depends on how we treat our customers and clients. So how do we treat our customers well?
One way is to provide superior customer service. Albert Schindler's 5 Secrets of Customer Service reveals how to provide the kind of customer service that builds loyalty.
Another way is to establish customer policies that ensure customers are treated well consistently. Policies about collecting and using customer data, for instance, need to be established to protect customers' privacy. The Privacy Act and Your Small Business will help you set up policies to do that.
