Attracting New Clients
Tuesday October 3, 2006
One of the findings of the Royal Bank of Canada's 2006 time management survey of small businesses is that 36 per cent of respondents feel that they're not spending enough time working on attracting new clients.
The small business owners surveyed said that ideally, they want to spend 67 per cent of their work-week attracting new clients, although in reality, they were spending just 47 per cent of their week doing that.
Personally, I was pretty impressed. These people are already spending almost half of their work-week on attracting new clients! I can't remember the last time I came anywhere close to doing that. Can you?
Besides raising the whole issue of the perils of self-reporting, I'm intensely curious about how the responding business people came up with the 67 per cent figure. But ignoring all that, if you want to focus on attracting new clients, these articles provide some practical strategies to get you going:

Well, I’ve seen enough company’s in the software and internet business (not too small though) which have a sales unit just as big as the technical unit. It doesn’t really surprise me anymore.
It is really a double edged sword. Having great content in the sea of internet pages is not enough. You also need to get folks to your site. With billions of pages this is a challenge.
For example, I believe my website
www.anglesanddangles.com is a great portal. But, if I am not getting traffic to it, it is pretty much a moot point!
