How to Write a Business Plan

Friday August 10, 2007
I doubt that there's anyone thinking of starting a business who doesn't know that a business plan is necessary. (Here are the five top reasons for writing a business plan if you need a reminder.)

But how do you put a business plan together? My Writing a Business Plan series of articles will guide you through the process of writing a business plan. Start with the Business Plan Outline; each listed section of the business plan links to a detailed article explaining how to write that particular part of the plan.

You'll end up with a complete, detailed business plan that will impress potential lenders and serve as a development blueprint for your new business.

The Short Version: If the only reason you're writing a business plan is to find out whether or not your business idea will work, use this Quick-Start Business Plan.
