Cool Tool of the Week: Bonanzle, an eBay Alternative

Sunday March 8, 2009
If your online business model involves selling online through sites not your own, you'll want to check out Bonanzle.com. It doesn't offer auction-style listings; instead sellers display items through a free Bonanzle "booth," where they can interact with buyers through a built-in chat feature. All listings are free; you pay fees when you sell something and those fees are low.

Bonanzle was "the runaway winner" in the eBay Alternative category in Small Business Computing.com's 2009 Tech Tool Awards.

Bonanzle really is a great social shopping site. Not only is there live booth chat you can also use the quick text feature if you have IM or similar set up and have conversation anywhere on the site. This is a personal favorite of mine in terms of the interactive features of Bonanzle

My other favorite Bonanzle feature is the handpicked list – anyone can create a list and it might be chosen for rotation on the Bonanzle homepage. Checkout our homepage there isn’t a more appealing homepage on the net. Clean, Simple, and sharp you’ll love it. Be sure to click the Bonanzle logo on the top left to see other lists people have created.

Check out Bonanzle I think you will really like it.

With ebay and other similar web sites, if you have any problems and need to email support, the normal reply is a canned response saying they are checking into it or will look in to it. However with Bonanzle if you have to email the support, you get Mark Dorsey (co-founder of Bonanzle). He responds to you and works to help everyone.
That was one of the best features I have seen.
The listing is free, and your items show on a Google search engine bringing in buyers to your items.
The site is very easy to use and you have unlimited listing without any fees. The only time you pay a fee is when you sell an item, and the fees are way below what most web sites charge.

Easily one of the best online venues on which to sell. The strong sense of community is inviting alone. Clean and crisp, the site is a breeze to use. Can’t say enough good things about it. Come take a tour through Bonanzle and see for yourself.

I’ve been shopping there for months now and I just Love it!
Everyone is so friendly and it’s got that feel of dealing with real people, not just forms on a massive impersonal website.
I also love the variety of ways to shop for items. If I refresh the Home Page there are all kinds of great items; items I typically might not search for. Those groups of items on the Home page are actually put together by the members. Dozens of those lists are rotated daily.
I can also search by word or category or just the Recently listed items. I can even see what other members tagged as Well Priced, Cool, Beautiful or just Funny!
They even have this feature called a Bonanza. Sellers can run sales for a few hours and it’s really fun and there’s even a lot of Freebie items that sellers offer with any purchase.
I’ve never seen a site quite like it and I’m not surprised that it’s grown so incredibly fast.
Even us buyers get to vote on improvements or new features! How cool is that? :D
