Get Started on Twitter - Fast

I have to get started on Twitter. Anita Campbell at Small Business Trends has published her Ultimate Small Business Twitter List and I'm not on it. When you do what I do, this is like showing up to give an important presentation without your pants. A plain old case of 'you've blown it'.

So far I have resisted the Twitter mania because:

  • I'm not convinced that Twitter is a great tool for small business
  • Probably like you, I'm very, very, very busy and easily reach the point where just hearing about having one more thing to do might send me right over the edge.
But many people swear that Twitter is a great business tool, including About's own Job Search Guide Alison Doyle and Entrepreneurs Guide Scott Allen.

And I discovered a way to get started on Twitter that's not only fast but takes no time to maintain, thanks to About Contests & Sweepstakes Guide Sandra Grauschopf .

If you already have a blog with a RSS feed, you only need to do three things to have your RSS feed automatically sent to Twitter:

  1. set up a Twitter account;
  2. set up a Twitterfeed account;
  3. Add your RSS feed, and it automatically ports every post to Twitter.
I certainly plan to do more with it than that, but in the meantime, I've made a start and something is going out there. One less thing to stress about.

You can follow me on Twitter @SmallBizCanada.

The other three Guides mentioned in this post are all on Twitter, too!
