My list of the The Best Business Ideas of 2010.

Springwise's Top 10 Business Ideas for 2010 list.

An interesting comparison. Bear in mind that Springwise has much more of a global orientation; I'm thinking specifically of Canada and the U.S. And too, I always try to limit my lists of business ideas to practical, workable ideas for small businesses.

What I'm leading up to here is that our lists of the best business ideas are amazingly dissimilar. But you may find the business idea that fires you up on either list, so have a look at both of them.

The idea on their list I like the best? The single-use toilet bag, a brilliant solution to the problem of having no access to a toilet. Not only is the PeepooBag safe for burial underground, but it decomposes within two to four weeks after use, converting the bag's contents to high-quality fertilizer. Now that's cool.

2.6 billion people have to deal with the problem of no access to a toilet, according to Springwise. It's not much of a problem in this country. I can, however, see a potential niche market here for outdoor enthusiasts. (I would have loved to have one of these along on my last long hike!)

What do you think of the business ideas on these two lists? Comment below.

I have read about the PeePooBag and the potential impact on public health in developing nations is staggering. What an amazing idea – and I agree with you about a camping market.

Thanks, Kerry. I was just blown away by the potential this product has to ” change the world” – as long as it’s affordable to its intended market.

I’ve been using the PeePooBag for 4 months. I am amazed how the fertilizer produced helped growing a very organic and healthy salad. I’m thinking to make a site where to sell all the products obtained from my PeePooBags.
