Think you can't afford a notebook computer? You can get a budget notebook for less than $1000 USD - and the best part is that these notebook computers all have enough power and performance to meet all your business needs and features to make your computing tasks easier, such as large display screens and wireless connectivity.
Now you can get the mobility of a notebook at an affordable price.
A bright 15 inch LCD screen display is just the start of this Toshiba notebook's features. The A65-S126 has an Intel Celeron Processor (2.8GHz), 256 MB RAM (with an upgradeable memory slot), a DVD-ROM/CDRW multifunction drive, a 60 GB hard drive, built-in wireless capability, and Windows XP Home OS. A winning combination of power, features and price make this notebook my top pick.
The A60-S1561 Toshiba notebook is very similar to the A65-S126; it too has an Intel Celeron processor of 2.8GHz, 256 MB RAM, a 15 inch LCD screen display, the Windows XP Home OS and connectivity features such as built-in wireless. One difference is that this notebook has a slightly smaller hard drive (40 GB). Still, either one of these Toshiba notebooks is a great business notebook for the price.
This Acer notebook is another budget notebook with high-end features to drool over. Its features are very similar to my two previous picks, with an AMD Sempron2800+ processor
and 512 MB RAM, a DVD-ROM/CDRW combo drive, a 40 GB hard drive and wireless connectivity. What I especially like about this notebook is that it has the Windows XP Professional OS and a longer battery life than the two Toshibas listed above.
It doesn't have the fastest processor on the block (an AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M 2600+ ((2.08 GHz)), but it does have all the all the business-friendly and connectivity features you'll need, such as 512 MB RAM, a DVD-ROM/CDRW combo drive, the Windows XP Professional OS, and a large 15 inch XGA active-matrix display to make it easier to see what you're working on.
The Apple iBook G3 Notebooks have outstanding battery life. What I don't like about them is the small screen display (12.1 inch) and the fact that so many things are add-ons rather than included in the price. For instance, this notebook is "wireless ready" - if you buy the AirPort card and the AirPort Extreme Base Station. The features that come with the 800 MHz version include a DVD/CD-RW drive and 30 GB hard drive.
If you can get by with a little less, this notebook computer is a good buy. You'll get less speed and power as this notebook comes with an AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M 1600+ processor (1.4 GHz), and definitely less screen space (12.1 inch display), but most other features are comparable, such as the 30 GB hard drive, DVD/CD-RW Combo drive, Microsoft Windows XP Pro OS and integrated wireless connectivity.
