Make Success A Habit
Small Business Success Program: Business Success Lesson 10

By Susan Ward, About.com

Over the course of The Small Business Success Program, I've presented nine strategies for you to use to increase your success. Now it's time to evaluate the program and make success a habit by incorporating the success strategies that worked best for you into your daily life.

Evaluating The Business Success Strategies

Using the table at the bottom of this page, rate each of the success strategies you've been introduced to based on their usefulness to you (5 being most useful and 1 being least useful). You might want to print out this page so you can circle your rating of each success strategy. (There's a link to a printable version of this page in the sidebar on the right.)

If you need to review a particular success strategy, follow the link in the sidebar to the Index Of Weekly Strategies.

Choosing Success Strategies To Continue

Remember what I said at the beginning about change? For change to be permanent and successful, it's best to make a few small changes over time.

Think about each business success strategy. Did you give it a fair shot? Might it work better for you if you gave it time, or is it just incompatible with your life currently?

Choose no more than four of the business success strategies to continue with. These are the ones that you're going to turn into success habits by continuing to work on them during the next months.

Evaluating Your Business Success Goals

In Week 2 of The Small Business Success Program you were asked to set specific goals. Go back and examine the goals that you set, and think about your progress. Have you accomplished what you set out to do? Are there goals that you didn't attain? If there are, are they worth modifying and continuing to work on, or should you discard them and create new goals?

Where Do You Go From Here?

My hope is that you've picked up some useful strategies and ideas during the course of the Business Success program that have helped build your self-confidence and promote your business. My goal was to present strategies that you could use right away to start increasing your success. But many of the business success strategies I've presented in this series will become even more powerful over time if you keep using them. Turn success into a habit by continuing to work on applying the success strategies, and see how powerful these tools can become!

Think about where you want to be three months from now. Set specific goals that will help you get to where you want to be. Be sure to write these down.

Review your evaluation material from this session of The Small Business Success Program, asking yourself how the success strategies you've learned relate to your new three-month goals. Adjust and modify your chosen success strategies as necessary. Look at your calendar and set aside the daily or weekly time you need to continue to work towards increased success.
