Welcome to the first Canadian Small Business of the Month feature!
I believe that small business owners can learn a lot from each other; this series of interviews with small business people from across Canada is your chance to see what other business people are doing and thinking, and perhaps become inspired by the challenges they've overcome or the goals they're planning to attain.
This month's interview is with Mark McGregor, an Independent Financial Consultant and Professional Speaker based in Hamilton, Ontario.
Would you start a business if you had had a heart attack? Mark did. He's a person who believes in going forward, no matter what obstacles are in his path. His response to stress is to treat it as a challenge. In his own words, "The only way for you to predict your future is to create it."
Mark's business illustrates his beliefs. Besides his Financial Consulting Business, Advantage Financial Plus, Mark is a professional speaker who delivers presentations on health, wealth, and business matters for organizations such as The Hamilton Health Science Corporation, Medtronics of Canada and the USA, and the BRAG and Go-Steeltown Business Group. He is an advisor for Your Heart Matters, and for the Stonechurch Med Clinic Heart Beats, and is on the Board of Directors for CASN (Cardiac Arrest Survivors Network). Currently he's developing a new Web site for his speaking business called "SpeaKING of HEARTs". It should be no surprise that when asked to describe himself as a animal, Mark chose the shark, because a shark has to keep moving to stay alive!
