1) Alternative Health Products
There’s a huge appetite out there for healthy living which makes all kinds of alternative health products a huge business opportunity. Ginseng, white tea and Acai berries are just a few examples of currently popular “natural” products being marketed for their health-enhancing properties or even as alternative medicines. If you choose this business opportunity, research your product carefully.
2) Biometrics: Hi-Tech Security for Businesses
Intellectual property costs money to produce and businesses have always seen the sense in spending money to protect it. Biometrics provides businesses with more secure ways of restricting access and identifying employees, such as retina, iris, and fingerprint scanning. With both industrial espionage and identity theft on the rise, selling these hi-tech biometric systems to businesses could be a business opportunity bonanza.
3) The Perpetual Diet
Twenty-five percent of men and 45 percent of women are on a diet on any given day, according to The National Eating Disorders Association, and 80 percent of women are dissatisfied with their appearance. Think of all the business opportunities that this pair of statistics generates! A best-selling diet book could make you a fortune. Or you could open a diet centre or become a personal coach.
4) Eco-Products
The unflagging interest in home decoration/renovation and growing concern about the environment make eco-products an outstanding business opportunity this year. For instance, furniture and flooring crafted from salvaged wood, such as pine-beetle damaged wood, is becoming the product of choice for the discerning. More and more Canadians are solving the problems of long wait times for surgery by opting to get the procedures they need done in countries such as Thailand and India. It’s faster, cheaper and can be combined with a nice little vacation. That makes arranging trips for people seeking medical procedures overseas an excellent business opportunity.
