The basic premise is that you are going to make a lot of money recruiting other people to become members of the club. Often the club is promoted as a way of making tax-free money or helping others. For instance, in one particularly repulsive example the gifting program was presented as a way for women to help other women get ahead.
The thing is, gifting programs are pyramid schemes. They're illegal. And sometimes, as in the example, they're immoral, too.

YOu are confusing gifitin programs with illegal pyramids.I am familiar with the women’s one (no, I did not get involved). It was all over the city I live in.
This does not even resemble a gifting program.
