3 Smart Buys for the Home Office

Home offices often suffer from a lack of both space and money. But if you make smart choices, you can still have a fully functional business office in your home. Here are three smart buys:

  • Brother MFC-9840CDW Color Laser Multifunction Printer - Multifunction printers are always a clever choice for the home office as they're such great space savers. This one is a particularly smart buy because of its combination of features and price; fast, quality printing of up to 21 ppm in both black and white and color, built-in automatic duplexing for two-sided printing, scanning, faxing and copying, and built-in networking and wireless capability.
  • Intuit Quickbooks Pro Accounting Software - Every small business needs accounting, even if you're running it from the kitchen table, and Quickbooks Accounting Software is the top selling small business accounting program. I particuarly like its integration with Microsoft products such as MS Word and Excel, allowing you to move financial data from one program to another.
  • APC Back-UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) RS 1300 - When the power goes out, you'll wish you had put an Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) at the top of your must-have list. A good UPS does two things; protects your electrical equipment (such as computers) from power surges and outages, and protects your business data by keeping your computer up and running during an outage. APC's RS 1300 UPS is very good at both of these things and its LCD display that displays status information makes it easier to see what's going on.
